From the Heart – Documentary Photography

"The little things? The little moments? They aren't little."

- John Kabat-Zinn

A soft receiving blanket. A tiny newborn sock. The blanket you snuggled on the couch while rocking your new babe at 3AM. All of these things, these quiet moments, matter to you. You reserve a deep pocket in your heart for the tiniest moments because you know that they are filled with such joy and emotion. You know that the small things are what make up the bigger picture in life.

This is all about authenticity. This is about remembering the daily moments that make up your life.

There is a last time for everything. Don't let it slip through your fingers - time moves quickly enough as it is. Photographs are the only way to ensure these memories are never forgotten...for generations to come.

I will spend a full day with you and your family, from wake-up to bedtime, and everything in between. A DITL documentary session is designed to visually tell the story of your daily lives and preserve these memories and quiet moments for generations to come. As parents, we are usually the ones behind the camera. Don't leave your children without photographs of you - don't leave them without photos of you together.

I will be with you for an entire day, telling your story through images. Things will not be forced; I will not direct or pose you. This will be 100% authentic and honest and show the heart of your family - the love you share with one another.

//  Total investment: $1200

//  DITL sessions last approximately 12 hours

//  Stunning 10x10 - 20pg Photo Book that visually narrates the story of your day-to-day life

//  Complete Digital Collection with Print Release

//  Flexible payment plans available

What Is Documentary Photography and Why Do I Need it?

I'm a huge nerd for nostalgia. Preserving memories is incredibly important to me. Documenting our authentic selves, remembering the emotions behind the scenes, the quiet moments, the laughter . . . that's what it's all about. When you look at your images years from now, I want you to be instantly transported back in time. I want you to remember exactly how you felt in that moment. I want you to be so moved by the emotions these images make you feel that you simply cannot imagine not documenting these moments. Life moves quickly and it's over in the blink of an eye. Photography allows us to hold onto the moments tha tmatter and it gives our children and grandchildren invaluable representations of what life was like "way back when". They will thank you for this; I promise.

These Day-in-the-Life documentary sessions are unscripted. Raw. Authentic. I will be with you from wake-up to bedtime, documenting all the moments in between. This is an honest representation of your life in this moment. I will not direct you or pose you. You do not need to be in full hair and makeup. The purpose of this session is to preserve these moments, just as they are. Unadulterated. Honest. These images will be artistic and intimate and a visual representation of your family.

Processing of your images will be complete approximately two weeks after our session; from there, we will have your Ordering Session where your images will be unveiled to you for the first time. We will design your book together at this time. Please be sure to have those who are participating in financial decisions present as this is when you will order your family art.

I want to get to know you. Connecting with you on a personal level is essential to our relationship and will help produce the best images possible from our time together. Let's meet for coffee and get to know each other. We will talk about what is important to you and what this DITL session means to you and your family. Before we sit down together, I will send you a questionnaire to help you prepare for our meeting as well as your photography session. I want you to think about these questions and answer from the heart, because in the end, that's what it is all about. This is from the heart - for the heart.
