“You’re everything I’ve ever dreamed of and so much more…”

One hundred red and white roses.  A romantic love note.  Her dream engagement ring and the love of her life.

Lauren had been in Chicago visiting her sister when Wes suggested dinner at Granite City and a promise of a comfy movie night at home when she returned.  Lauren had thought it a little strange since they had been so dedicated to their recent dieting regimen, but she was excited for a night out.  

Ready for a movie after donning comfy pajamas, Lauren walked back into their apartment living room and was surprised by one hundred red and white roses and a letter.  By the end of the second sentence, Lauren was already in tears.  “It was the sweetest letter I’ve ever read,” she told me later as she recounted their engagement story.  

The beautifully written letter ended with a proposal: “You’re everything I’ve ever dreamed of and so much more and today, I ask you to be my wife.”  Lauren turned around to see Wes holding her dream engagement ring.  Months before, she had discovered the ring while shopping one day and jokingly said she would only say yes to that ring.  Little did she know that Wes was listening.

Lauren and Wes were married June 26, 2014 and quickly moved to Charleston for his new job.  They returned to Fort Wayne one year later, on June 27, 2015, for a proper reception where they could celebrate their love with family and close friends.

Our area had experienced severe storms the night before.  The grounds at her parent’s house and Swim Club, where their reception was being held, were completely saturated and littered with debris from the raging storms.  Lauren put on a brave face as she prepared for her big day while all of her girls helped keep the atmosphere light and as stress-free as possible.  Once Lauren walked out to meet Wes for their First Look, all of the stress melted away and they couldn’t stop smiling at each other.  The rest of the evening went off without a hitch as they enjoyed their meals, beautiful toasts from their fathers, and visiting with close friends and family from all over the country and Canada.

I have never met such a beautiful and kind group of people.  Every single person I spoke with was so warm and loving and I am so incredibly honored to have met each and every one of them.
